EDUCATION
The Walhalla Public School is a K-12 system serving the students of the school district and accepting students from other districts through open enrollment provisions. The entire school system is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and is also accredited with commendation by the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. A complete elementary, junior high school and secondary school program of instruction is offered...many of our graduates move on to post-secondary programs and universities. Our general student population performs above national averages on the Cognitive Test of Basic Skills (CTBS) and most do very well on Scholastic Aptitude (SAT) and American College Testing (ACT). Vocational Technical education is taught in the areas of Family and Consumer Sciences as well as Office Technology education.

Special Education:
Special services for the student population is available on site in most areas. These services are coordinated with Pembina Special Services Cooperative office (Mr. Tom Cummings is the director), telephone (701) 265-8080. On site information may be obtained by calling one of the principals or the superintendent.
Other Educational Programs to Serve Student Needs:
There is a 7-12 tutoring program available under the Perkin special needs area as well as a Title 1 remedial reading and mathematics program for students K-6.
Extra-Curricular Programs:
A wide variety of activities and programs are available for our students:
Academic/Vocational: National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Home Makers of America, Drama, Speech, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, and Student Council at both the high school and junior high school levels.
Athletic: Football, Girls Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Boys Basketball, Wrestling, Girls/Boys Track, Baseball, and Girls/Boys Golf.
